SUBJECT:
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FUTURE ACTIVITIES OF TASK A-24 The members of the Technical Activitie: Steering Comittee have reviewed and provided their recommendations regarding the proposed future activities under Task A-24 in your July 6,1979 memo. Three recormiendations can be characteriz-ed as agreeing with your proposal to proceed with Option 2 with some reserva-tions regarding the need to carry-over the momentum developed under Task A-24 into the lead plant environmental qualification reviews. The fourth, from DPM, prefers Option 1 because of concern over the lead plant review schedules.
A majority of the Steering Committee thus concurs with your proposal to proceed with Option 2, and I agree.
In addition, by copy of this memorandum, DSS and DPM are advised to develop an approach for lead plant reviews of environmental qualification that will assure that these reviews receive appropriate priority and schedules.
In doing so, the suggestions provided in S. Varga's memorandum to S. Hanauer dated August 13,1979gould be exp;ered.
