Appendix A NOTICE 0F VIOLATION Wehr Steel Company License No. 48-02005-02 Based on the inspection conducted on October 22, 1979, it appears that certain of your activities were in noncompliance with NRC requirements, as noted below.
Items 1 and 2 are infractions.
1.
License Condition No. 16 of Byproduct Material License No. 48-02005-02, states, in part, the licensee shall possess and use licensed material in accordance with statements, representations, and procedures con-tained in application dated June 30, 1977. The Revised Procedure Manual, Chapter V, Section A.3. " Periodic Training", submitted with this application, requires that periodic training be given to Radio-graphers on a regular schedule of twice each calendar year.
Contrary to this requirement, since June, 1977, to the date of this inspection, no periodic training has been given to Radiographers on a regular schedule of twice each calendar year.
2.
Paragraph 10 CFR 34.25(b), Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 34, states in part, each sealed source shall be tested for leakage at intervals not to exceed six months.
Contra ry to this requirement, as of the date of this inspection, leak testing of the cobalt-60 sealed sources had been performed during October, 1978 and October, 1979, a period in excess of the required six months.
