TVA Process Specification Number 4.M.l.l(b) dated December 20, 1973 contains the following requirements:
Paragraph 3.1.10.1, "End caps for tubular products shall be maintained 1.

Contrary to the above, on January 31, 1979, stainless steel containment spray piping located in the containment dome area had the following:

Pipe end caps missing - three examples 2.
Uncovered wire rope around pipes - two examples Pipe placed against unpainted / uncovered carbon steel stands - four 3.
examples Spray nozzle basses uncovered - approximately one-third of bosses 4.
observed.
Corrective _ Steps Which Have Been Taken And The Results Achieved The missing pipe caps have been replaced, the uncovered carbon steel ropes and stands have been covered with tape and the uncovered spray nozzle bosses have been covered.
Corrective Steps Taken To Avoid Turther Noncompliance To preclude further noncompliance *, craft personnel have been reinstructed QC in the requirements for the handling and storage of stainless steel.
inspection personnel vill verify that these requirements are met during the course of their stea surveillance inspections as required by SNP Inspection Instruction No. 32.*
