IE Inspection Report of
February 12-15, 1979
In response to your letter dated March 22, 1979 which contained IE
Inspection Report 79/02, the following is submitted:
(1) Corrective Steps Taken and Results Achieved
A Bechtel Quality Action Request (QAR) was issued February
19, 1979, on the welding electrodes found in the drywell
area.
This QAR was closed 3/13/79.
The electrodes were
properly disposed of upon being returned to the Rod Issue
Area.
An investigation revealed that this was an isolated case,
caused by an oversight of personnel.
(2) Corrective Steps Taken to Avoid Further Noncompliance
The Project Superintendent issued an interoffice memorandum
to the Project Field Contracts Administrator and the Field
Superintendents for Unit 1 and Unit II emphasizing responsi-
bility for rod control and that violation of the requirements
may be cause for disciplinary action.
(3) Date to Achieve Full Compliance
Full compliance was achieved on March 8,.1979.
