APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Mississippi Power and Light Company License No. : CPPR-118 Grand Gulf Unit 1 Based on the NRC inspection February 12-15, 1979, certain of your activities were apparently not conducted in full compliance with NRC requirements as indicated below. These items have been categorized as described in corre-spondence to you dated December 31, 1974.
As required by Criterion V of Appendix B to 10 CFR 50, and as implemented by the Grand Gulf PSAR, paragraph 17.1.5, activities affecting quality shall be accomplished in accordance with established procedures.
Procedure WFMC-1, Rev. 2 requires that welding electrodes be issued in containers and that unused filler material be returned to the issuing rod room.
Contrary to the above, on February 13, 1979, approximately 30 type 7018 electrodes not in a container and unattended were present in one location of the drywell area.
Inspection of other containment areas indicated that this was an isolated case of noncompliance.
This is a deficiency.
