SUBJECT:

ACCEPTANCE FOR REVIEW REGARDING TRAVELER TSTF-582, REVISION 0, "RPV WIC ENHANCEMENTS (EPID L-2019-PMP-0199)

Dear Members of the Technical Specifications Task Force:

By letter dated August 28, 2019 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML19240A260), you submitted to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) a request to incorporate Traveler TSTF-582, Revision 0, "RPV [Reactor Pressure Vessel] WIC [Water Inventory Control] Enhancements, into the standard technical specifications.

Section 170.21 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations requires that Travelers are subject to fees based on the full cost of the review. You did not request a fee waiver; therefore, NRC staff hours have been billed accordingly. The NRC staff estimates that the review will require approximately 570 staff hours including project management time.

The NRC staff has completed a preliminary review of your submission and determined it is sufficiently complete and appropriate to initiate a more comprehensive review. The review will generally follow the schedule below.

MILESTONE SCHEDULE DATE Issue Request for Additional Information December 17, 2019 Issue Draft Safety Evaluation May 15, 2020 Issue Final Safety Evaluation August 28, 2020 The NRC staff recognizes that several licensees plan to adopt this traveler for Spring 2021 outages and would need the traveler approved prior to August 2020 to do so. The staff will re-evaluate the review schedule and notify the TSTF if any milestones can be expedited.
