Mr. R. C. Lewis Gentlemen:
The Georgia Power Company offers the following information ir response to your letter of February 15, 1979, describing an apparent noncompliance with NRC requirements noted during your January 11 - 12, 1979, inspection of the Hatch Nuclear Plant.
Infraction (Part A) - Plant Procedure UNP-1-1050 has been revised so as to require that Plant Management be informed in the event that unidentified leakage to the drywell sump doubles or increases by 2 gpm.
Operators have been instructed to follow procedures to ensure that the leak rate is recalculated within four hours after the unidentified leak rate is calculated to be greater than 1 gpm.
HNP-1-1050 was revised and approved February 19, 1979.
(Part B) - Plant Procedure HNP-1-1500 has been revised to specify the proper equipment to be used when venting the drywell. Plant operating per-sonnel have been instructed that full compliance with procedures is required.
If a pro : dure is found to be inadequate, it shall be revised by a temporary or pemanent procedure revision before use.
HNP-1-1500 was revised and approved February 14, 1979.
The inspection report contains no information which is believed to be prcprietary.
