1 ENCLOSURE F.sponse to NRC Inspection Report RII:LLI 50-259/78-30, 50-260/78-33, 50-296/78-31 Finding Technical Specification 3.1 and Table 3.1.A required that the trip level setting on the rain steam line high radiation moni. tors be set at less than or equal to 3 times
- i e normal full power background.
Contrary to the above, on November 14, 1978, an NRC inspector determined that the irip !.evel Settings for channels B, C and D of the Unit 2 main r, team line high
'adiation monitors were respectively 3.4, 5.3 and 3.4 times the normal full power Lackground.
i tesponse Corrective Stens Taken And Results Achieved ihr background radiation level was measured in the unit 2 nain steam line tunnel and the 'aain steam line high radiation monitors calibrated based on the measured value.
i"e error in the setpoint was due to a lower radiation level in the main steam tunne
.ter the refueling.
arrective Steps Taken To Avoid Further Noncomp]Iance t
i:.e calibration of the main steam line radiation monitors based on full load Mckground radiation will be performed as part. of the refuel retest program.
