- 1. PURPOSE The Offsite Calculation Manual provides the methodology and parameters to be used in the calculation of off-site doses due to radioactive liquid and gaseous effluents to assure cocpliance with the dose lisitations of the Technical Specifications. These dose limitations assure that:
- 1) the concentration of radioacti'.e liquid effluents frc the site to the unrestricted area will be limited to the concantraticn levels of 10CFR20, Appendix 3, Iable II;
- 2) the exposures to any individual from radioactive liquid effluents will not result in doses greater than the design objectives of 10CFR50, Appendix I;
- 3) the dose rate at any ti=e at the site bcundary from radioactive gaseous effluent; w.ll be lisited to the annual dose limits of 10CF320 for unrestricted areas; and
- 4) the exposure to an's indivifual from radioactive gaseous effluents will not result in doses greater than the design objectives of 10CFR50, Appendix I.
- 2. SCOPE The methodology used to assure cocpliance with the dose limitations described above shall be used to prepare the radioactive liquid and gaseous effluent procedures and reports required by the Technical Specificaticas.
The Manual also provides the =ethodology and parameters to be used in the calculation of radioactive liquid and gaseous effluent monitoring instrucentation alars/ trip setpoints to assure compliance with the a y( s

This manual does not include the procedures and forms required to document compliance with the surveillance requirements in the Technical Specifications. Changes to this manual shall be reviewed and approved by the Station Nuclear Safety and Operating Committee prior to i=plementation . - 1. MAXIMLi ALLO'4ABLE RELEASE RATE 1.1 The release rate based on maximur allowable Curies per ninute of liquid ef fluents can be expressed as max 1=um allowable gallons per minute (GPM) f rom turbine bldg. sumps or frca the clarifier based on inputs to the clarifier.

- 2. LICUID EFFLUENT LIMIT 2.1 The maximum allowable GPM into the clarifier from an individual source is to be calculated assuming a decontamination f actor (DF) of 1 for the clarifier package and a saxinus discharge rate of 300 GPM.
