Further to our letters of November 15, 1979 (GPc526); November 21, 1979 (GM-528); November 29, 1979 (GM-530); December 6, 1979 (GM-531);
December 12, 1979 (GM-534); December 13, 1979 (GM-535); and January 8,

1980 (GM-544); and, in accordance with a meeting yesterday with bota NRC I & E (Region II and Headquarters) and NRR personnel in NRR's Washington offices, we are submitting the following information:
1.
An individual from Bechtel's Geotechnical/ Soils area will be assigned to the Vogtle jobsite on a full-time basis to perform the surveillance activities outlined in section III-A-9 of Attachment #1 to our January 8, 1980 transmittal. This individual will also oversee the monitoring activities associated with the operation of our supplemental groundwater dewatering system and..ill be on te when its operation is initiated.
Until a lons -term assignment has been effected, we will utilize the services of an individual from Bechtel's geotechnical group already at the Vogtle site who is available immediately to perform the activities in question.
When, in our judgment, it is no longer required to have this type expertise at the site on a full-time basis we will notify the Region II I & E principal inspector for Vogtle.
With respect to the monitoring program associated with operation of our supplemental groundwater system (Attachment #3, part III-B), the following additional procedures will be implemented:

Approximately one (1) gallon water samples shall be taken fron the system at the 1st, 4th, 8th, 16th, and 24th hours following initial onaration; thereafter, daily samples will be taken.
