This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. Folsom and Mr.
Varela of this office on May 4,1972 of construction activities

authorized by AEC Construction Permit No. CPPR-40 and to the

discussions of our findings held by Mr. Folsom with Mr. Avers

and Mr. Stro= berg of your staff at the conclusion of the in-
j
spection.
Areas -examined during this inspection included records and repair
of the concrete voids in the North 180 portion of the containment
'
building ring girder and the progress of your investigation oc the
O
concrece veids in the Soeth 180= eercion of the coneatn=ent bui1d-
ing ring girder. Within these arcac, the inspection consisted of
9;
selective examinations of procedures and representative records,
interviews with plant personnel, and observations by our inspector.
During this inspection, it was found that one of your activities
,

_ appeared to be in nonconformance with Appendix B to 10 CFR 50.
The item and references to the pertinent requirements are listed in
I
the enclosure to this letter. Please provide us within 30 days, in
I
writing, with your co=ments concerning this item, any steps that
have been or will be taken to correct it, any steps that have been
or will be taken to prevent recurrence, and the date all corrective
action or preventive measures were or will be completed.
