The subject inspection report is forwarded for information.

One item of nonconformance was identified relative to location of con-
struction joints. The licensee's position was stated to be that the
strength analysis assumed no bond at the construction joint; however,
.
core drilling was being accomplished to determine the exact location
of the joints and the degree of bond. This matter will be reviewed
during subsequent inspections.

The investigation of the extent of voids present in the South 180
0
section of the ring girder has not been completed. Our inspector
,
feels that the extent of the voids in the South 1800 section are much
less than that identified in the North 1800 section, based on pre-
j
liminary data.

We plan to re-evaluate the QC system of Three Mile Island during sub-
sequent inspections.
