NOV 2 0 E18 APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Alabama Power Company License No. NPF-2 Based on the results of the NRC inspection conducted on September 25-29, 1978, it appears that certain of your activities were not conducted in full compliance with NRC requirements as indicated below. These items have been categorized as described in our correspondence to you dated December 31, 1974.
Technical specifications 6.8. states in part, that written procedures shall be established, implemented and maintained covering.. the applicable proce-dures recommended in Appendix A of Regulatory Guide 1.33.
Appendix A, Paragraph G.2.a..ecommends that spent resins and filter sludge handling be covered by written procedures. Technical Specification 6.8.2 states, in part, that "Each procedure... shall be reviewed...".
Contrary to the above, the licensee did not have written procedures for transferring spent resin and evaporator concentrates to the bulk loading facility and subsequently to the waste solidification contractor's mobile solidification unit, nor had the plant reviewed the operating procedures used by the waste solidification contractor.
This is an infraction.
