December 21, 1979 Docket No. 50-219 Mr. I. R. Fi nfrock, J r.

Vice President - Generation Jersey Central Power & Light Company Madison Avenue at Punch Bowl Road Morristown, New Jersey 07960

Dear Mr. Finfrock:

RE:

STATUS AND CATEGORIZATION OF SYSTEMATIC EVALUATION PROGRAM (SEP) TOPICS Enclosed is a tabulation of the status and categorization of the SEP Topics for your facility. The tabulation indicates those topics for which the initial assessnent has been completed, a revised assessment is under way, or the topic is completed.

For these topics we would expect little further involvement from you. For completeness, we have also indicated those topics which are not applicable to your facility and those generic topics which will be evaluated outside the SEP.

The tabulation also provides a generalized assessment of the expected involvement of the licensee on each topic review. This assessment may change, however, as topic reviews progress and deviations from current licensing criteria are identified.

For those topics requiring a major involvement by you, we will identify as soon as possiole the work expected of you. We would then expect you to assign the appropriate resources to these areas so an acceptable review schedule can be met.

Si ncerely,

A
