APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Carolina Power and Light Company License No. DPR-62 Brunswick Based on the NRC inspection August 6-10 and 30, 1979, certain of your activities were apparently not conducted in full compliance with NRC requirements as indicated below. These items have been categorized as described in correspondence to you dated December 31, 1974.
As required by Provision 3.7.7.2 of the Technical Specifications, the automatic sprinkler system for the Unit 2 Reactor Building is required to be operable at all times.
In the event the sprinkler system becomes inoperable, a limiting condition for operation consisting of a fire watch with backup fire suppression equipment is required to be established within one hour.
Contrary to the above, the sprinkler systems for the 50 and 80 foot elevations in Unit 2 Reactor Building were found shi.'t off and thus inoperative on August 7, 1979 and the required limiting condition for operation had not been established.
This is an infraction. A similar item was brought to your attention in our letter dated May 14, 1979.
