Gentlemen:

Thank you for your letter of October 12, 1979, informing us of steps you have

taken to correct the items of noncompliance and deviation concerning activities

under NRC Operating License Nos. DPR-62 and DPR 71 brought to your attention in

our letter of September 19, 1979. We have examined your corrective actions and

have no further questions at this time. Also, your comments on deviation items

A.2 (Design of sprinkler systems for cable spreading areas) and B (Nonindicating

type fire protection control valve) are being forwarded to our Office of Nuclear

Reactor Regulations for evaluation. These items will be reexamined upon comple-

tion of this evaluation.
