Gentlemen:
This latter will confirm the telephone conversations of June 28 and 29, 1979,
between C. Biddinger of Alabama Power Company and M. D. Hunt of my staff
concerning your June 25, 1979, letter requesting that certain items of
IE Reports 50-348/79-17 and 50-364/79-07 be withheld as proprietary. We
advised you that additional information is necessary to meet the requirements
of Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice", Part 2, Title 10, Code
of Federal R.>gulation for withholding these itams from public disclosere.
Subsequently, we were advised by you that Alabama Power Company will not
object to the release of thes; reports in their entirety. Accordingly,
these reports will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room,
Should you have any questions concerning our actions in this matter, we
will be glad to discuss them with you.
