Docket No. 50-320
Metropolitan oison Company
ATTN: Mr. J. G. Herbein
Vice President
P. O. Box 542
Reading, Pennsylvania
19603
Gentlemen:
Subject:
Inspection 50-320/78-10
I
This refers to your letter dated Aprii 18, 1978, in response to our
letter dated March 29, 1978.
It is our understanding, based on a telephone conversation between Mr.
Markowski of this office and Mr. W. Cotter and Mr. J. McGarry of your
staff, held on April 25, 1978, that a recent evaluation of the torque
tester data (dated December 14,1976). and the torque wrench data (dated
June 20, 1977) indicated that the out of tolerance condition of the
above equipment related only to its use for left hand threaded fasten-
ers. Since there are no such fasteners used at your facility, no fur-
ther action was necessary.
If this understanding is incorrect, please
inform us imediately.
Thank you for informing us of the corrective and preventive actions
documented in your letter. These actions will be examined during a
__
subsequent inspection of your licensed program.
Your cooperation with us is appreciated.
Sincerely,
-
.- M
