Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
We offer the following supplemental information to the "B" apparent Item of Noncompliance noted in the referenced inspection report.
Further investigation of this matter hs. revealed that during the time period of 17 to 19 April 1979, the Reactor Building sump in-ventory and discharge were not monitored for a period of about thirty-five (35) hours, as stated in the Notice of Violation.
Documented data does not uphold our contention that all sump inventory indicators were "off scale high".
In order to prevent recurrence of this violation w. have:
- Revised SP-300, to require, a) wide and narrow range logging of the Reactor sump level each shift, and b) logging of Reactor Building sump narrow range recorder level each shift.
The implementation of this revision will be ef fective by 1 August 1979 and full compliance will be achieved.
