OYSTER CREEK NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION - EXEMPTION FROM THE REQUIREMENTS OF 10 CFR 50.54(w)(1), CONCERNING ONSITE PROPERTY DAMAGE INSURANCE (EPID L-2019-LLE0007)
Dear Mr. Hanson:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has reissued the enclosed exemption from the specific requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Section 50.54(w)(1) concerning onsite property damage insurance for Exelon Generation Company, LLC. This action is in response to your submittal dated April 4, 2019 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System [ADAMS] Accession No. ML19094B776), requesting an earlier effective date for the previously issued exemption to reduce the minimum insurance coverage limit from
$1.06 billion to $50 million for Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station. The reissued exemption is effective 9.38 months (285 days) after the permanent cessation of power operations.
A copy of the exemption is enclosed. The exemption has been forwarded to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
B. Hanson 2 In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records component of ADAMS.
