UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION WASHINGTON, D.C. 20555-0001 October 25, 2018 Mr. James Spacco Radiation Safety Officer Sensor Concepts & Applications, Inc.

SUBJECT:

ACCEPTANCE REVIEW OF LICENSE AMENDMENT REQUEST FOR RADIATION SAFETY OFFICER (ENTERPRISE PROJECT IDENTIFICATION L-2017-PMP-0001)

Dear Mr. Spacco:

By letter dated October 3, 2018 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System

[ADAMS] Accession Number ML18278A003), you provided a License Amendment Request (LAR) to replace the Radiation Safety Officer identified on the Sensor Concepts & Applications, Inc. License. That is the only change requested under this LAR.

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has performed an acceptance review of your submittal to determine if the application contains sufficient technical information to allow the NRC staff to conduct the detailed technical review. Based on this review, completed October 22, 2018, the NRC staff concludes the submittal contains information in sufficient detail to enable the staff to conduct its detailed review. Accordingly, the NRC staff has established a schedule for this review which includes the issuance of requests for additional information (RAIs) by October 31, 2018. The NRC staff anticipates completing its review and developing a Safety Evaluation Report to address the submittal by the end of November 2018 or four weeks after adequate response to any RAIs, if any. In addition, the NRC staff estimates that completing the review and making an independent assessment of the proposed application will require approximately 15 staff hours.

In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 2.390 of the NRCs Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records component of NRCs ADAMS. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.

2 J. Spacco If you have any questions, feel free to contact Mr. Tyrone Naquin at (301) 415-7352, or via e-mail to Tyrone.Naquin@nrc.gov.

Sincerely,

\RA\
