RELEASE OF IRREVOCABLE STANDBY LETTER OF CREDIT NUMBER 68133845 FOR THE ACCOUNT OF AREVA INC., (ENTERPRISE PROJECT IDENTIFIER: L-2017-PMP-0001)

Dear Sir/Madam:

On November 8, 2018, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued a letter confirming that the site of the former Blended Low Enriched Uranium Facility was suitable for unrestricted release. Therefore, the decommissioning financial assurance established for the site is no longer required. The letter is available in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) under Accession Number ML18302A012.

Accordingly, we are releasing the Irrevocable Standby Letter of Credit Number 68133845 issued by Bank of America for the account of AREVA, Inc. The original signed letter of credit is enclosed for your cancellation. It is our understanding that AREVA requests Banco Santander to cancel its counter-guarantee also.

In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 2.390 of the NRCs Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be available electronically for public inspection in ADAMS. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
