This email is to inform you that the NRC is finalizing a license amendment for Watts Bar Nuclear Plant, Unit 1. We are notifying you of the proposed issuance in accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Section 50.91(b), 10 CFR 50.91(b)(3) and (b)(4). The amendment revises Technical Specification (TS)

Surveillance Requirement (SR) 3.0.2 and Table SR 3.0.2-1 to permit the extension of the Surveillance Frequencies for SRs 3.3.1.5, 3.3.2.2, and 3.3.6.2. The Surveillance Frequency extension limits for these SRs expire on October 1, 2018 (as listed in Table SR 3.0.2-1) or when the unit enters MODE 5, whichever occurs first.

The licensees application dated July 8, 2018, and supplements dated July 24 and July 30, 2018, are available in ADAMS under Accession Nos. ML18189A001, ML18206A416, and ML18211A393, respectively.

The amendment was noticed in the Federal Register on July 16, 2018 (83 FR 32912). See the attachment to this email. The public comment period expires on August 15, 2018. No public comments have been received to date. NRC plans to issue this amendment on August 16, 2018, per the licensees request, as specified in their July 8, 2018, submittal.
