OYSTER CREEK NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION - NOTIFICATION OF THE AVAILABILITY OF THE POST-SHUTDOWN DECOMMISSIONING ACTIVITIES REPORT IN THE FEDERAL REGISTER (EPID L-2018-LRO-0022)
Dear Mr. Hanson:
On May 21, 2018, Exelon Generation Company, LLC (Exelon or the licensee), submitted a letter enclosing the Post-Shutdown Decommissioning Activities Report (PSDAR) that includes the Site-Specific Decommissioning Cost Estimate (DCE) for the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station (Oyster Creek).
The PSDAR has been made publicly available in the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commissions (NRCs) Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession (ADAMS) No.
ML18141A775.
The purpose of this letter is to inform you that the NRC staff will publish a notice in the Federal Register informing the public of a meeting to discuss and accept comments on the PSDAR including the DCE. It is the NRC staffs intention to hold the public meeting on July 17, 2018, at the Community Hall in Lacey Township, New Jersey.
In a separate letter dated May 21, 2018 (ADAMS Accession No. ML18141A486), Exelon submitted an update to the spent fuel management plan for Oyster Creek. Exelon submitted the preliminary DCE and spent fuel management plan on December 30, 2014 (ADAMS Accession No. ML14365A067).
A copy of the Federal Register notice is enclosed.
