APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Virginia Electric and Power Company Docket Nos. 50-280 & 50-281 License Nos. DPR-32 & DPR-37 Surry 1 and 2 As a result of the inspection conducted on November 2-5, 1981, and in accordance with the Interim Enforcement Policy, 45 FR 66754 (October 7, 1980), the following violation was identified.
Technical Specification 6.6.3c requires the licensee to report annually to the NRC the total quantity of radioiodine released to the environment during the preceding year.
Contrary to the above, the licensee did not report to the NRC the total quantity of radioiodine released to the environment during 1980.
The quantity reported for 1980 was not a total quantity because appropriate decay corrections were not applied to the weekly analyses of samples from the ventilation and process vents.
