This refers to the special safety inspection conducted by E. H. Girard of this
office on February 9-12, 198l, of activities authorized by NRC Operating License
Nos. DPR-32 and DPR-37 for the Surry facility.
Our preliminary findings were
discussed with J. W. Patrick at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during the inspection and our findings are discussed in the
enclosed inspection report.
Within these areas, the inspection consisted of
selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with
personnel, and observations by the inspector.
