Subject: Report Nos. 50-280/81-06 and 50-281/81-06
Thank you for your letter of April 7, 1981, informing us of steps you have taken
to correct the item of noncompliance concerning activities under NRC Operating
License Nos. DPR-32 and DPR-37 brought to your attention in our letter of
March 13, 1981.
We have examined your corrective actions and have no further
questions at this time.
We discussed your position regarding NRC item 50-280,281/81-06-0l in a telephone
call with R. F. Driscoll on April 16, 1981, and informed him that after re-exam-
ining the matter we found no reason to change our conclusions.
The NRC position
continues to be that your inspector was not adequately acquainted with the
process of fillet weld size measurement.
The corrective action described in
your response letter appears adequate to provide compliance with the require-
ments of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B.
We will examine these actions in subsequent
inspections.
