APPENDIX A NOTICE OF DEVIATION Public Service Electric and Gas Hancocks Bridge, New Jersey Docket Nfr.
50-311 License No. DPR-75 As a result of an inspection conducted on September 14-18, 1987 and on December 15-18, 1987, the following deviation from the Fire Hazard Analysis commitment was identified:
Salem ~nit 2 Fire Hazard Analysis dated September 11, 1987 states that automatic fire detectors have been installed throughout the Reactor Plant Auxiliary Equipment Area and the Radwaste Storage areas.
Contrary to the above on September 18, 1987, it was identified that automatic fire detectors were not installed in the following locations of the Reactor Plant Auxiliary Equipment Area:
- 1) East end of the corridor outside the counting room; 2) the corridor to the mechanical penetration area; 3) the storage area behind the counting room; 4) the ventilation room over the counting room; 5) the boric acid evaporator room; and, 6) the !SI calibration storage room.
Also, area fire detectors were not installed in the control console room of the radwaste storage area.
This is a deviation.
Public Service Electric and Gas Company is hereby requested to submit to this office within thirty days of the date of the letter which transmitted this Notice, a written statement or explanation in reply, including:
(1) the cor-rective steps which have been taken and the results achieved; (2) corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further deviations; and (3) the date when full compliance will be achieved.
Where good cause is shown consideration will be given to extending this response time.
