'NOTICE'OF'DEVIATION Public Service Electric and Gas Company License No. DPR-70 Docket No. 50-272 Based on the results of* an NRC inspection conducted on*December 16, 1979 to February 2, 1980, it.appears that one of your activities was not conducted in full conformance with commitments made to the Commission as indi'cated below.
The Final Safety Analysis Report describes the Auxiliary Feedwater System as seismic category I and includes valves 1AF81 and 1AF82 in the system as depicted in Figure 10.2-4 of the FSAR.
Contrary to the above, on January 28,. 1980, it was determined that valves 1AF81 and 1AF82 had been deleted from the system design during construction and that valve 1DR7, the demineralized water system fill line check valve nearest the tank, was not designed as seismic category I, resulting in a non-seismic design and a potential for failure of the demineralized water line during the seismic event.
