NUREG 0737 II.D.l, PERFORMANCE TESTING OF RELIEF AND SAFETY VALVES (TAC NO. 44604) - ADDITIONAL INFORMATION NRC letter dated 10/20/87 requested 10 items of additional information regarding NUREG 0737, Item II.D.l - Performance Testing of Relief and Safety Valves.
Consumers Power Company letters dated March 29, 1988 and May 25, 1988 responded to Items 3-10 and notified the staff that we expected to respond to Items 1&2 before September 15, 1988.
This letter identifies the pressurizer block valves and PORVs we plan to install after September, 1989 and, therefore, partially responds to Item 1.
The remaining information requested in Item 1 (i.e. description and discussion of all similarities and any differences between the purchased valves and those tested in the EPRI program and verifi-cation of the operability of the block valves) and the information requested in Item 2 (the expected back pressure and bending moments) has not been documented at this time but will be submitted before April 1, 1989.
Purchase Orders for the new valves, two 4-inch Rockwell gate valves operated by SMB-00-25 limitorque operators and two 4-inch Target Rock Power Operated Relief Valves (PORVs), were placed last month.
Attachments 1 and 2 to this letter contain complete descriptions.
