ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION PLAN INFORMAT~ON Consumers Power Companys application for a full term operating license for the Palisades Plant is presently being reviewed by the NRC staff.
A conference call January 25, 1984 with NRC reviewers resulted in a commitment by Consumers Power Company to provide additional information regarding the Environmental Protection Plan for Palisades.
This information consists of copies of correspondence between Consumers Power Company (CP Co) and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR).

confirmed staff's verbal concurrence to proceed with spring and summer thermal surveys and to review the findings of the two surveys before determining if a fall' survey would be required.

- January 25, 1982 letter from P C Hittle by J A Gulvas (CP Co) to R J Courchaine (MDNR) submitted final report on spring and summer thermal plume surveys and recommended a fall survey not be conduct-ed.
- 5.
June 21; 1982 letter from R J Courchaine (MDNR) to P C Hittle (CP Co) concurred with Company request to delete fall thermal survey and determined that this-requirement of the plant's permit was satisfied and "that the discharge complies with temperature related requirements of.the Michigan water quality standar~s."
Chlorine Minimization Report The Chlorine Minimization Report will be sent to the NRC by mid March 1984.
