Identification of specific effluent limitation exceeded:

Daily average limit~tion of less than 30 mg/l total suspended solids.

Description of Incid.ent:

The daily average for suspended solids for laundry waste measured 44.65 mg/l for September 1979.

Apparent Cause:

The exact cause of the suspended solids is unknown at this time but it is suspected that organic growth in the postfiltcr hold tank is contributing to the higher level of suspended solids discharged.

Corrective Action - The following corrective action was taken or will be taken to reduce, eliminate and prevent recurrence:

The system is being ana~yzed for possiLlc filter failure.

S~stem integrity ~ill be assured prior to any further discharges.

System filters were removed, checked and

  • Verified that the proper filters were in use.

A smaller micron final filter.will be test run.
