2.0 1EST REQUIREMENTS The purpose of* -this test was to subject the test items specified*
- in section* 1.0 above. to the seismic vibration test specified in section 3.0 below to determine their ability to withstand such vibration with-out evidence of mechanical damage, deterioration or loss of their abil-ity to operate properly during or after the simulated seismic ~vent.
3.0 TEST PROCEDURES.
The test was performed under the direction of representatives from Babcock & Wilcox, who witnessed the testing.
3.1 *rest Mounting One (1) of the accelerometers specified in *section l.O above
- was mounted on the saddle block mount and the other was mounted on the V*block mount. The two mounts were securely attached to a test fixture. The two (2) charge amplifiers specified in *section 1.0 above were mounted in the.juncti:on box which was securely attached to the same test fixture. *The chassis was also secured R

to the' test fixture. The test fixture was then securely at-tached to the small 45° biaxial table of the AETC seismic test faciltty. The use of the 45° table results in equal horizontal and vertical components.
3.2 Test Monitoring The test items, were visually monitored for any evidence of
- mechanical damage or deterioration". The test items, were monitored with accelerometers by AETC personnel to determine their mechan-
- ical response during the resonance survey and multiple frequency*
tests specified in sections 3.4 and 3.5 below.
Durin~ the resonance survey specified in section 3.4 below, six (6) accel-erometers were used. Data from these accelerometers, through appropriate *signal con~itioning, was r~orded on visicorder re-cording paper included with this test report. The five (5).
monitoring accelerometers and Qne (l) control accelerometer were located as follows:

The X-Y plots of the test*response spectra of the control accelerometer are included as part of this test report. The electrical and operating test conditions were monftored by Babcock & Wilcox* personnel.

I 3.3 *rest Conditions.
All tests were perfonned at room temperature and pressure.
During the resonance survey and multiple frequency tests speci-fied in section 3.* 4 and 3.5 below, the test items. were opera-tional. *All electrical and operating test.conditions were set *..
and controlled by Babcock & Wilcox personnel. *Prior to and after each of the multiple frequency tests.specified in section 3.5 below, Babcock&* Wilcox personnel verified that alarms #1,. 6 and 12 were functional. During t~e multiple frequency tests,*
Babcock & Wilcox personnel monitored alann #6.
1 3.4 Resonance Survey The resonance survey consisted of a biaxia*l sinusoidal input with peak horizontal and vertical acceleratio*ns *of 0.2g at fre-quencies from 1 through 50 Hz.
The resonance survey was per-formed at a sweep rate of one (*1) octave/minute. The input was.
applied in *two {2) horizontally perpendicular biaxial. direct.ions of excitation as follows:

3.s Multiple Fteguency Test
- A biaxial multiple frequency excitatfon was applied. : Qual-ification tests, consisting of biaxial periodic pseudo-random excitation were perfonned. The level of the periodic psetido-random excitation was such th~t the Test Response Sp_ectra {TRS),
from the control aecelerometer would envelope the appropriate
.Required.* Response Spectra (RRS). The input was to be applied six {6} times in each of 'four" (4) biaxial directions of excita-tions.
The te~t duration* for each input was thirty (30) seconds.
The leve*l of the first five (5) inp.uts in. each biaxial direction was to be such that. the TRS from the control accelero-meter comput~ at the appropriate damping*would envelope the

4.0 TEST RESULTS 4.1 Resonance Survey Test Results No* resonances. were* detected during the resonance* s.urvey spe.cified in section 3.4 abov~.
4.'2 Multiple Frequency Test Results There was no evidence of mechanical damage, deterioration or loss of the test i.tems' ability to operate properly during or after the simulated seismic: events.
Test Response Spectra from tests 3*, 4, 5 and 6. was ana 1-yzed at bo~h Q=lQ.and Q=SO.
The same test input was found to have a response that enveloped both the Q=lO curves of Figure 1 as well as the Q=SO cu_rves of Figure 2.
