Generic Letter 94-03 "Intergranular Stress Corrosion Cracking (IGSCC) in Boiling Water Reactors" Gentlemen:
By letter (NMP1L 1200) dated April8, 1997, Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation (NMPC) submitted to the NRC Staff the inspection results for the Nine MilePoint Unit 1 (NMP1) core shroud and a description of the proposed modification to the tie rod repairs previously installed. of that submittal made reference to a technical report that evaluates stress profiles for NMP1 core shroud vertical welds V9 and V10, which was prepared for NMPC by MPM Technologies.
At the time of the submittal, the report was still preliminary and had not yet been approved.
Contained herein is the approved report titled "Analysis of Nine MilePoint Unit 1 Shroud Weld Cracking," for your review.
