During surveillance testing while. the plant was shutdown for refueling, a switch on LIS-3-56B, which trips the reactor recirculati'on pump motor generator, failed to operate.

Conditions Prior to Occurrence:

The reactor was shut down for refueling.

Action specified in the Technical Specification Surveillance Requirements met due to ino erable e ui ment. Describe.

None A arent Cause of Occurrence:

Instrument drift.

Anal sis of Occur'rence:

Since the redundant switch was operable, the reactor shutdown, and the recirculation pump not operating, no'roblem was incurred.

Corrective Action:

The switch was recalibrated and functionally tested.

259/7437 and 296/7724.
