Dear Mr. Denton:
Carolina Power R Light Company hereby modifies the request for partial exemption from the requirements of 10 CFR g 50, Appendix A, General Design Criterion 0 (GDC-0) dated 3anuary 10, 1985 (reference
- 1) and amended in April 19, 1985 (reference 2).
We modify our request from a permanent exemption (for the lifetime of the plant) to a schedular exemption (pending rulemaking changes to GDC-O).
We request a schedular exemption from the requirements of GDC-0 (references 1 and 2 provide the technical basis) until the end of the second refueling outage or completion of rulemaking changes to GDC-O, whichever is later.
