Carolina Power
& Light Company (CP&L) hereby transmits one original and forty copies of the supplemental information to the response to the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant (SHNPP) Draft Safety Evaluation Report (DSER)
Open Item 7.
Part of the information that this response presents has been provided to CP&L by Seaboard System Railroad for the sole purpose of assisting CP&L in providing to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) information necessary to support the applications of CP&L and North Carolina Eastern Municipal Power Agency for an operating license for SHNPP.
Seaboard System Railroad has requested that further disclosure of this information be limited to the NRC on the ground that the information constitutes confidential and/or proprietary commercial data.
Accordingly, CP&L hereby requests, pursuant to 10 CFR 2.790, that the information supplied by Seaboard System Railroad be withheld from public disclosure.
In support of this request, CP&L previously transmitted in an August 12, 1983 letter (LAP-83-275) the letter of Seaboard Systems Railroad to the NRC requesting that the information be withheld and a supporting affidavit meeting the requirements of Section 2.790 which has been executed by Aubrey M.
Daniel, Vice President Phosphate and Chemicals of Seaboard Systems Railroad.
