SHEARON HARRIS NUCLEAR PORK PLANT UNITS 1, 2, 3, AND 4 DEFICIENCIES IN THE PROCUREMENT, FABRICATION AND INSPECTION OF ENGINEERED PLATES FOR CONCRETE EMBEDMENT AND SUPPORT OP SAFETY RELATED LOADS INTERIM REPORT OPEN ITEM '400 AND 401/79-14-01 402 AND 403/79-13-01

Dear Mr. O'Reilly:

Per our May 30, 1980, interim report on the subject deficiency, we informed you that out of the 469 defective plates identified, 22 plates still required some form of corrective action and it was estimated that the corrective action completion date was September 1, 1980. The intent of this letter is to inform you that corrective action on the 22 remaining plates has not yet been completed. Tests specified by the Architect Engineer are presently being conducted to determine the acceptability of the plates. Depending on the acceptability of the test results, it is now estimated that all corrective action will be completed by November 15, 1980, at which time the final 10CFR50.55(e) report will be submitted.
