Dear Mr. Denton:
Carolina Power 2 Light Company (CPRL) hereby submits additional information concerning Phase I of NUREG-0612 "Control of Heavy Loads at Nuclear Power Plants" at the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power, Plant (SHNPP).
This information is submitted in response to Safety Evaluation Report (SER) Confirmatory Item No. 21 from the Auxiliary Systems Branch.
Attachment 1 is a detailed listing of the specific items of NUREG-0612 Section 2.1-3 along with the CPRL response.
The attached information supplements the original response submitted by letter dated 3une 26, 1981.
As discussed with the NRC Auxiliary Systems Branch reviewer, the bulk of the attached submittal was prepared prior to the receipt of the EGr!tG Technical Evaluation Report transmitted by your letter dated November 27, 1980.
As a result of our discussions, revisions have been made to address the specific concerns outlined in Section 3.2 of the EGkG Report; The discussion below outlines how each of the Section 3.2 concerns has been addressed in our submittal.
3.2.1 Safe Load Paths - This information is provided in the attached Procedure MMM-020.
3.2.2 Load Handlin Procedures-These procedure numbers are provided in and are discussed in Procedure MMM-020.
3.2.3 Crane 0 erator Trainin
This information is covered in Procedure MMM-020.
3.2.0 3.2.5 S ecial Liftin Devices - These items are discussed in Procedure MMM-020.
