TO NRC GENERIC LETTER NO. 89-07 "POWER REACTOR SAFEGUARDS CONTINGENCY PLANNING FOR SURFACE VEHICLE BOMBS" (TAC NOS. 74706, 74707 AND 74708)

On April 28, 1989, GL 89-07 was issued to all licensees and requested that action be taken to address the potential threat of radiological sabotage involving a land vehicle bomb, in their safeguards contingency plan procedures.

By letter dated November 3, 1989, Arizona Public Service Company (APS) confirmed that the requested action has been taken for Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVNGS), that procedures are in place to address such a

contingency, and that a revision to the PVNGS Security Plan has been prepared.

Based on your response, APS has fulfilled the reporting requirements of GL 89-07.

Me therefore consider this action complete.
