Supplement for Relief Request PRR-01 Reference Letter from D. Gudger (Exelon Generation Company, LLC) to U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, "Relief Requests Associated with Fifth Ten-Year lnservice Testing Interval," dated August 3, 2017 (ADAMS Accession No. ML17219A123)
In the referenced letter, Exelon Generation Company, LLC (Exelon) submitted relief requests associated with the fifth ten-year lnservice Testing (IST) Interval for James A FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant (JAFNPP). One of these relief requests is PRR-01, "Core Spray Pump Suction Pressure Gauge Range." During a clarification call between the NRC staff and Exelon conducted on October 23, 2017, Exelon agreed to submit this supplement to revise the proposed 10 CFR 50.55a(z) alternative category for relief request PRR-01.
Relief request PRR-01 was originally submitted requesting NRC approval under 10 CFR 50.55a(z)(2), "Hardship without a compensating increase in quality and safety." This supplement changes the relief category to 10 CFR 50.55a(z)(1), "Acceptable level of quality and safety." The remaining information submitted for relief request PRR-01 in the reference letter remains accurate and unchanged.
