Dear Mr. Denton:
The purpose of this letter is to request an emergency Technical Specification change to correct the Containment Spray Pump response times identified in Technical Specification 3/4.3.2, Table 3.3-5, Item 3e, as shown on the attachment.
On April 9, 1985 APS identified an error in the calculation of this value which decreased the required response times by six seconds.
These times should read:

This correction is required to make the Technical Specification consistent with the Safety Analysis as previously reviewed by your staff and does not represent a
decrease in any margin of safety as described in the Safety Analysis.
This correction has been reviewed by the Plant Review Board and Plant Manager.
It was discussed with Mr.
G.
Knighton et al, on April 10 and 11, 1985 via telecon.
Unit 1 is expected to be ready for initial entry into Mode 4
on or about April 15, 1985.
In support of this evolution, you are requested to provide concurrence for this emergency Technical Specification change request as soon as possible.
