C. J. Bosted

R.
C. Sorensen of this office on October
2 - November
12,
1989 of activities
authorized
by
NRC Operating License
No. NPF-21,
and to the discussion of
"findings held by the inspectors
with Mr. C. Powers
and other members of the
Supply System's staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection
are described
in the enclosed
inspec-
tion report.
Within these
areas,
the inspection consisted of selective
examinations of procedures
and representative
records,
interviews with
personnel
and observations
by the inspectors.
During this inspection
our inspectors
identified a significant concern
involving loose capscrews
on safety-related
motor-operated
valves.
This
concern is discussed briefly in paragraph
4.e of the enclosed
report,
and
will be addressed
more fully in special
Inspection
Report No. 89-38.
Pending
issuance of that report, you should provide appropriate
management
attention
to ensure timely correction of the observed deficiencies.
Based
on the results of this inspection, it appears
that certain of your
activities did not fully meet commitments
made to the
NRC as set forth in the
Notice of Deviation, enclosed
herewith as Appendix A.
You are requested
to provide
a response
to this Notice. as stated in Appendix
A, Notice of Deviation.
In addition to addressing
the specific issue cited in
the Notice of Deviation, you are requested
to describe
other corrective
actions you have taken
as
a result of your review of emergency lighting.
In accordance
with 10 CFR 2.790(a),
a copy of this letter, the enclosure,
and
your response will be placed in the
NRC Public Document
Room.

Notice is not
subject to the clearance
procedures
of the Office of Management
and Budget as
required
by the Paperwork
