Dear Mr. Kober:
By letter dated October 9, 1985, Rochester Gas and Electric Corporation requested a license amendment for the Ginna plant related to operation of the Auxiliary Building ventilation and charcoal filter absorber system.
In order to complete our review we need responses to the enclosed requests for additional information.
These requests were prepared by the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory, EG&G Idaho Incorporated our technical review contractor.
These requests have been the subject of both a meeting between our staffs on June 26, 1986 and a conference call on July 1, 1986.
Your staff, we understand, is both aware of the questions and at work on a response.
As a consequence of the above and in order to accommodate the EGSG contractural completion date, we desire a response by July 18, 1986.
This review is being done under our TAC No. 60036.

What charcoal system is being addressed, fuel pool off-gas or auxiliary building main stack?

If the main stack, what other systems are processed via this pathway?
3.
Does the proposal allow for movement of fuel during power operations'?
If so what prevents reconfiguring spent fuel or movement of new fuel during power operations?
4.
Model RETS 3. 11.2.4 requires use of off-gas treatment systems whenever monthly dose exceeds 1/48th of Annual Appendix I objectives.
Does this system fit under this specification?
What about 10 CFR 50 Appendix I doses?
5.
Can the fuel pool experience periods of elevated radionuclide release during non-refueling periods (i.e.,
can the fuel pool be used as an evaporator)?
