RII:ALC 50-389/79-20 This NRC Inspection resulted in one finding as described below:

(as partial implementation of the environmental control program defined in Section 30(2) of the Construction Permit), the licensee is committed to maintain a daily log of site surveillance, findings and environmental protection activities to assure that all construction activities conform to the environmental conditions defined in the Construction Permit.

Contrary to the above, the licensee failed to maintain the daily log during the period October 15-17, 1979 and October 25, 1979.

Response

Florida Power and Light has evaluated this finding and submits the following response:

The daily log that is required to be maintained was not maintained on the referenced dates because the site environmental control engineer was not on site on those days.

For days that he is absent, the environmental engineer has been directed to assign a qualified person to maintain the daily log and perform the necessary site surveillance required by the site procedure.

Full compliance with this audit was achieved on November 5, 1979.
