A summary of .
the findings was
presented
to Messrs.
R. Abbott,
K. Dahlberg

of your staff at the conclusion of the'nspection.
Operations
at
both units
were
generally
good during this
inspection
period.
An exception at Unit 2 involved
a personnel
error which resulted
in operation
with an improperly positioned control rod.
A Unit
1 event involving the opera-
tion of the
pump with its suction valve closed also reflected poorly
on the'operations
staff
and is
a recent
example
of ineffective configuration
control.
Your staff's initial corrective actions
were comprehensive.
In these
incidents,
there were
no adverse
safety
impacts or equipment
damage.
