Power Plant
on March 22,
1990.
Subjects
discussed
during the meeting are
summarized
in the enclosed
meeting
report.
In summary,
the meeting focused
on the March 13,
1990 Diablo Canyon Systematic
Assessment
of Licensee
Performance
(SALP) report which found that overall
PG8E
performance
had improved in all areas,
but that
PG8E appeared
to be slow to
recognize
problem areas
and to fully implement corrective actions.
Specific
discussion
focused
on your actions to address
the timely resolution of
problems,
the reorganization of the equality Assurance
area,
and the
development of the Engineering organization.
Me acknowledged that you and
your staff appear to recognize
the issues
and have taken steps
to address
them.

in these
