Dear Hr. Schuyler:

SUBJECT:

Diablo Canyon Unit 2 - Request DJ ST.RIBUT.I.ON t ~50=175 323 NRC PDR Local PDR NSIC LBg3 Reading HSchierling JLee NGrace EJordan LChandler, OELD ACRS (16)

JKnight for Information At the meeting on September 13,

1984, we discussed the efforts currently underway by your Diablo Canyon Project (DCP) on Unit 2.

The discussion specifically included the matters of

( 1) application of Unit 1

IDVP and ITP to Unit 2, (2) allegations and (3) piping and supports.

The program you have in place regarding item

( 1) was previously described in your letter of July 31, 1984.

We request that you provide a similar description for items (2) and (3) for Unit 2.

Both were extensively reviewed and evaluated by you and the staff with respect to the full power license for Unit l.

You should discuss how the program and the results are applied to Unit 2.

For example, describe the specific Unit 2 effort you have undertaken regarding the seven Unit 1 license conditions for piping and supports, both from a programmatic and a technical viewpoint (including modifications).

We request that you provide the information by October 8,

1984.

We also request that you provide us with the results of all three efforts listed above, analytical and modifications if any.

For example, you should describe the specific analyses performed for the containment annulus structure, the results and any necessary modifications.

You should clearly indicate to what extent the effort could extend beyond fuel load.

The information should be provided by October 22, 1984.

If the effort is not completed by that date, you should submit a status report and the final results by November 5, 1984.
