260.2 Provide the composition of the Onsite Safety Review Group and discuss its functioning.
For example, does it review procedures before or after issuance7 Does each group member have
,"veto power" over procedures or does the majority rule. If majority rules, how are dissenting opinions handled?
Discuss why this group is shown on Figure 17.2-1 as being at the general office and not at the plant site.
260.3 Clarify the last sentence of the full paragraph on page 17.2-8 which states:
If a stop work recommendation by a quality assurance engineer does not come under the provisions of the authority of the Manager, guality Assurance, or -'-
in the absence of the Manager, guality Assurance, the Vice President-Nuclear Power Generation will make the decision as to the action to be taken.
260.4 Figure 17.2-1 indicates that the responsibility for quality control is not assigned to the Manager of guality Assurance.
Describe the responsibilities of the following organizations as they impact on the gA program for Diablo Canyon during the operations phase.
Also indicate the number of. supervisory and technical personnel in each.
a.
guality Control under the Manager of Materials.

Figure 17.2-1 shows the guality Assurance Supervisor Engineer located at the plant site, while Figure 17.2-2 shows the guality Assurance Supervisor or Engineer located at the general office.
Clarify.
The first sentence on page 17.2-19 states that spare parts, items, or services will "normally" be procured as described.
Describe controls over any purchases which are not procured "normally" or delete "normally" from the sentence.
Amendment 85 does not include two full paragraphs concerning supplier evalua-tion which began at the top of page 17.2-16 of Amendment 65.
Justify this
- deletion, replace the paragraphs, or provide an alternative for our assessment.
Similarly treat the second paragraph on page 17.2-17 of Amendment 65 concerning off-the-shelf items.
260.10 Section 17.2.9, "Control of Special Processes,"
includes several new paragraphs concerning welders and welding.
Describe the quality controls over the per-formance qualification tests conducted on-site.
