Certification of Permanent Cessation of Power Operations On June 2, 2016, Exelon Generation Company, LLC (EGC) announced that it plans to close the Clinton Power Station (CPS), Unit 1 due to deteriorating economics.
Therefore, pursuant to 10 CFR 50.82(a)(1 )(i) and 10 CFR 50.4(b)(8), EGC certifies to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission that it has decided to permanently cease power operations at CPS, Unit 1 by June 1, 2017.
There are no regulatory commitments contained in this submittal.
